UK: COVID sceptics rally in London as restrictions lifted

Anti-lockdown protesters rallied in Parliament Square, in London, on Monday, despite COVID-19 restrictions being lifted.

Protesters could be seen arguing with the police and shouting ‘Shame on you.’ They also prevented traffic from passing through.

Monday is being touted as ‘Freedom Day’ in the UK with social restrictions lfited.

Furthermore, face coverings will be recommended in some places such as public transport, but no longer required by law.

As the restrictions are being lifted, there have been warnings that COVID cases may surge in the UK where the delta variant has been spreading rapidly.
