Hundreds of shipping containers have been stacked on a former airfield near Eye, Suffolk, 26 miles from Felixstowe port, as seen on Thursday.
Local news outlets have reported that the containers are being left temporarily due to congestion at the port, arising from a global shipping crisis and national lorry driver shortage.
In September, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans for a temporary visa scheme to ease entry by foreign lorry drivers into the UK, after a lack of drivers forced oil company BP to close several of its UK locations.
