Visitors at Windsor Castle shared their thoughts on the Queen’s endorsement of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as the next ‘Queen Consort’, on Sunday.

“It’s fantastic, now that we have Prince Charles and Camilla been confirmed that they will be the next to take over, yeah it’s exciting,” commented Melissa, a local visitor.

Previously, Camilla Parker-Bowles had been promised the title of ‘Princess Consort’ if her husband, Prince Charles, were to become king.

A Queen Consort is a title held by the wife of the ruling king.

Queen Elizabeth II made the announcement in her Queen’s Accession Day message on Saturday, one day ahead of her 70th anniversary of Accession.
