Several cars of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) have left Donetsk, says the Donetsk People’s Republic Mission to the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) on Sunday.
Footage shows six cars, including one with a trailer, are driving along the road outside the mission headquarters in the Park Inn. OSCE personnel are unloading items.
According to JCCC, the SMM carries out crossings of the checkpoint on a daily basis and in both directions as part of planned rotations, as well as emergency medical evacuations. The mission was notified about today’s crossing of the checkpoint on February 10.
“Also today, three cars entered the territory of the Republic through the same checkpoint, one of them with a trailer, which confirms the version of planned rotations,” the JCCC added.
JCCC representatives added that the SMM’s work continued as usual.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova for her part said that the decisions by a number of countries “to relocate their OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine “due to deteriorating security conditions” give rise to “serious concern”.
“The Mission is being deliberately dragged into Washington’s militaristic psychosis and used as a tool for possible provocation. We call on the OSCE leadership to resolutely put a stop to attempts to manipulate the Mission and to prevent the Organization from being dragged into unscrupulous political games played around it,” Zakharova said.
Agreements to resolve the conflict in Donbass were signed at a summit in Minsk in February 2015. However, the OSCE has recently reported an increase in ceasefire violations.
The latest report by the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (OSCE) on February 12 stated that 114 ceasefire violations had been recorded in the Donetsk region, including 68 explosions.
