Farmers and producers around Campea, Vila Real are counting the cost of the hail storm that hit their community yesterday afternoon. According to rough estimates, the community lost a harvest worth about one million euros.

“Completely destroyed” 80-90 hectares of potatoes; corn for cattle feed has been destroyed (and the concerned farmer now does not know how he will feed his herd); 600 hectares of chestnut trees have been destroyed to such an extent that at least half of the harvest will be lost.
