USA: Blinken and Bennett discuss how to "curtail Iran"s pursuit to dominate region"

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Washington DC on Thursday to discuss issues ranging from Iran to US-Israel relations.

“We’re going to be talking about a bunch of issues, primarily how do we fend off and curtail Iran’s pursuit to dominate the region and its race to a nuclear weapon,” he said.

Blinken, for his part, reiterated the US commitment to its alliance with Israel.

“Our two countries working together have a very important and very powerful common agenda and our commitment to that partnership, to Israel’s security is and always will be unshakable,” said Blinken.

Naftali Bennett, who is undertaking his first trip to the US since taking office, also met with Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin, ahead of his scheduled meeting with President Joe Biden on Thursday.
