USA: Dixie Fire scorches forestland along Highway 89 in California

Smoke and flames were seen rising from burning forestland along Highway 89 near Plumas National Forest in Northern California on Sunday.

Dixie Fire has charred more than 190.000 acres (768 sq km) in Butte and Plumas counties as of Sunday morning. According to local officials reports, further extreme fire is expected.

Experts fear the 2021 wildfire season in the United States could be even worse than the historic 2020 fires.
