Vladimir Putin broke down in a coughing fit during a televised Covid-19 conference.

The Kremlin was forced to deny the Russian president, 68, has any health problems.

This comes after rumours that the Russian leader is planning to retire early next year amid fears for his health.

It has also been alleged that Putin is suffering from Parkinson’s disease, with footage circulating in Russia of his legs shaking while he holds tight to a chair.

Meanwhile, Russia has recorded an alarming spike in coronavirus cases and deaths, but authorities have so far resisted imposing lockdown restrictions as they did during the country’s first wave.
