Leader of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin claimed that the republic has no illusions about Kiev implementing the Minsk agreements, speaking during an interview to RT in Donetsk on Saturday.

“The situation extremely degraded under Zelensky’s rule, and we don’t have any illusions that Ukraine will now move within the commitments it has undertaken. And the USA, France, and Germany are only making it worse with their statements like you mentioned, and with their silent inaction and indulgence of Ukraine,” said Pushilin.

Commenting on the Russia-Ukraine situation, the DNR leader stated that this ‘hysteria’ continues to be developed by Western countries and the media.

“The situation is partly ridiculous when the USA makes one statement, and Ukraine does radically the opposite, because they understand the whole situation and how it can affect the economy. … It sounds ridiculous even for the Ukrainian leadership. Nevertheless, Western countries continue this hysteria,” he added.

According to DPR leader, Donbass is generally ready for a ‘possible Ukrainian offensive’. However, the DPR leader did not rule out turning to Russia for help based on the situation.

Now we are conducting much more activities on the setting up of units, interaction with various competent authorities and emergency services, so that our territorial defence could work. And this includes a whole range of activities related to the evacuation of certain areas along the line of contact, where it would be extremely dangerous for civilians to stay. It also includes the work of emergency services during a special period of time and a number of other measures, which allow us to say that we are generally ready for a possible Ukrainian offensive. At the same time we understand that with the number of weapons and mercenaries, who stay in Ukrainian-controlled territory of Donbass region, the situation could be very difficult for us. And, of course, we will respond depending on the situation. However, we do not rule out turning to the Russian Federation for help”.

Now the situation is developing in a comical manner, considering the predictions of Bloomberg and other publications. Too many dates have already been predicted. The situation is partly ridiculous, when the USA makes one statement, and Ukraine does radically the opposite, because they understand the whole situation and how it can affect the economy. They really have no information, if we consider the situation properly. What Russia? Where to prepare? It sounds ridiculous even for the Ukrainian leadership. Nevertheless, Western countries continue this hysteria. This is exactly hysteria that we should call their forecasts. There is nothing to add here.”
