Yemen: Demonstrators protest against deteriorating living conditions in Aden

Scores of demonstrators protested against deteriorating living conditions in the port city of Aden on Wednesday.

Protesters were seen marching through the city and gathering around a military vehicle. Tyres were also burned and stone bollards removed during the course of the demonstration.

“My salary is 30,000 Riyals ($120) How can I live? In order to buy gas, only, we need 10,000, so how should people eat and drink and how can they [local residents] raise their children?,” asked one protester.

Citizens of the city - controlled by the Southern Transitional Council - are reportedly suffering from rising food prices and a collapse in the value of the local currency.
