Yemen: Houthi govt slams deadly Saudi-led coalition airstrikes in Sana'a

The Human Rights Ministry of the Iran-backed Houthi government held a press conference in Sana’a on Wednesday, in the al-Libya residential area which was heavily targeted by the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes on Monday.

Representatives of the ministries of information and health as well as the relatives of a number of victims were also present at the press conference and could be seen standing in the midst of the rubble.

SOT, Ahmed Qassem al-Junaid, Relative of a deceased family (Arabic): “This crime is a crime that exceeded all standards. If you witnessed it, you would see that the raids targeted not only this house, but four neighbouring houses were completely destroyed, the entire neighbourhood fell on the heads of its inhabitants, and this is the house where deceased Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Junaid used to live, with his children, wife, nieces and two cousins, some of them are wounded and in the hospital now, this is a crime that exceeded all crimes.”

SOT, Nasr al-Din Amer, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information in Sanaa government (Arabic): “We saw a few days ago, during the press conference of Al-Maliki coalition spokesperson, who showed scenes in the port of Hudaydah and claimed that there were missiles and weapons, and then it was proven that the scenes were not in Yemen in the first place. Today, he is claiming using the same method and sources, but we are witnessing a massacre against women and children, so there is great media misinformation, thus we invite all media outlets and hold them fully responsible to attend and watch themselves and tell.”

SOT, Ali al-Dailami, Acting Minister of Human Rights in Sanaa government (Arabic): “They say that the capital has become a military target, and this is very dangerous. The capital must be protected, and the United Nations bears full responsibility, what is happening is done with the American green light and with American approval, and for this reason, America is primarily responsible for it.”
