Afghanistan: Taliban flags on Kandahar buildings after reports of takeover

Taliban’s spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said Afghan troops left the province last night and surrendered control of the city to the Taliban.
The militant group has captured over 18 provincial capitals across the country, according to local news after stepping up its offensive to take back the country after the US and its NATO allies announced they would withdraw their forces.
