Thousands of protesters marched through Addis Ababa of Tigray denouncing the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) in a pro-government rally held in the capital on Sunday.
The demonstrators chanted slogans in support of the government, and carried placards with slogans such as “Tigrayans and TPLF are not the same, We do not compromise the unity and sovereignty of Ethiopia,” among others, while condemning Western meddling into the affairs of Ethiopia.
The rally comes as the TPLF is in armed conflict with Ethiopian forces, with protesters demanding Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed step down, and permit humanitarian aid to enter Tigray.
The government calls for Tigrayan forces to withdraw from territory they have captured in neighbouring regions, with Ethiopia declaring a state of emergency as of November 2.

SOT, Chernet Sheferaw, Protester (Amharic): “Even if the protest was held so late, lastly it was the right time to hold the protest program. I am so happy to be here today, it is a very fantastic program.”

SOT, Shewit Kiros, Protester (Amharic): “TPLF is not representing the Tigray people and I wish that our Ethiopia rises. That still now our Ethiopia rises and long live Ethiopia.”
