France: Homeless migrants occupy Parisian park to demand housing solution

Hundreds of homeless migrants and their supporters occupied the Andre Citroen park in Paris on Wednesday to advocate for improved housing solutions across the country.

Migrants set up several tents in the park, which lies steps away from the Prefecture of Paris and Ile-de-France building, the main governmental body responsible for dealing with the homeless issue in the region.

The event was organised by the ‘Collectif requisition,’ a group of associations defending homeless migrants’ rights.

The demonstration follows a similar demonstration that took place in June, with protesters camping out in Hotel de Ville in Paris for the same cause.
