France: Thousands rally in Paris against COVID health pass for 6th consecutive weekend

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Paris to protest against the mandatory COVID-19 health pass, in what marked the sixth consecutive weekend of demonstrations, on Saturday.

Participants were seen marching whilst holding signs criticising the health pass, which was imposed to curb the COVID cases, as restricting the rights of the unvaccinated, with some protesters confronting the police and gendarmerie deployed to monitor the gathering.

As of July 21, in order to visit cultural venues and sports matches, people are required to show proof of vaccination, a negative test, or a recent recovery from COVID-19. A majority of French support the health pass, recent surveys show.
