Rigaer Strasse and the surrounding intersections were cordoned off in the morning as police forces raided the partially occupied house ‘Rigaer 94’ in Berlin, on Wednesday, in an attempt to collect personal data of its residents.

According to police spokesperson Anja Dierschke, “a task force consisting of approximately 320 units were present today to carry out the measures ordered by a judicial warrant.” She stated that “no acts of resistance had occurred” during the beginning operation, adding though that “the entrance door of the house had to be breached violently using heavy machinery.”

Earlier this year in June, violent confrontations shook the street as a long-planned fire protection inspection took place.
