The sun was dimmed by heavy smoke amid fires that broke out between the villages of Soroni and Tholos on Rhodes, Sunday.

Nearby villages were evacuated, with some locals seen watching the rising smoke from distance.

According to reports, firefighters stopped the flames from affecting the Petaloudes Valley.
