Indonesia: Flooding in Jakarta leaves much of city submerged

Flooding has left many residents homes and businesses submerged in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said that 39 neighbourhood units remain underwater as of Tuesday. Numerous homes have been destroyed by the flooding.

The caretaker of Muara Baru village said the flooding began on December 2, and “around five to six houses were destroyed by the flood.”
