President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach gives his final press conference of the Tokyo Games in the Japanese capital on Friday, August 6.

The Tokyo Olympics took place a year later than planned due to COVID-19 pandemic under unprecedented safety measures and restrictions.

The Games officially kicked off on July 24 and will finish with a closing ceremony on August 8.
