US President Joe Biden gives a press briefing on the deadly Kabul airport explosions on Thursday, August 26.

Two powerful explosions took place outside the airport on Thursday afternoon, killing reportedly at least 60 Afghans, 12 US servicemen and wounding dozens more.

The attacks, at least one of them believed to be a suicide bomb, were carried out during the hectic evacuation of Western citizens and at-risk Afghans wishing to leave the country ahead of the 31 August deadline for NATO troop withdrawals.
