Live: German Chancellor Scholz gives first Bundestag statement

Germany’s new Chancellor Olaf Scholz is scheduled to give his first set of government declarations at Berlin’s Bundestag on Wednesday, December 13.
Scholz officially took over the role from his predecessor Angela Merkel on December 8, following months of coalition negotiations between the SPD, Greens and FDP.
Last week, the new Chancellor visited Brussels and Paris, in his first tour within the EU. Scholz also held a phone briefing with US President Joe Biden on Friday.
The statement will open the plenary session of the German parliament.
