Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett holds briefing in Jerusalem on Sunday, January 2, on the coronavirus situation in the nation and the impact of the Omicron variant.

Daily cases in Israel have risen in the past two weeks from around 700 to the more than 4,000 reported on Sunday.

“These are numbers the world has never seen and neither have we,” remarked Bennett earlier on Sunday, speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem.
