UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hold a joint press conference in Kiev on Tuesday, February 1.

​According to Downing street spokesperson, Johnson is travelling to Kiev to accelerate “diplomatic efforts’ in the crisis on the Ukraine-Russia border. He is also due to have a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of the trip.

UK and US have both publicly confirmed their intention to impose tough sanctions on Russian officials and elites if Moscow attempts to invade Ukraine - a move Russia has repeatedly denied planning.
