UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson attends a Q&A session at the House of Commons in London on Wednesday, March 9.

On Tuesday, Johnson has announced a new minister to deal with the growing refugee crisis, after a succession of Conservative MPs condemned the Home Office for failing to accept Ukrainians fleeing from the country.

Russia launched its military offensive in Ukraine in the early hours of February 24. After Russia’s offensive, Europe, the US, and the UK imposed heavy sanctions, targeting several Russian banks, individuals, and bilateral trade. A targeted SWIFT sanctions for some Russian banks have also been introduced.
