Minneapolis Police have released bodycam footage of the fatal shooting of Dolal Idd on New Years Eve.

Residents organised a non-violent protest in response, including a bonfire at the site of the shooting.

Minneapolis Police maintain that Idd fired the first shot during a traffic stop.

The bodycam footage was released under transparency reforms made by Mayor Frey.

Frey was shunned by protestors after Floyd’s death as he would not support defunding the police.

Earlier today, residents held a candle lit vigil at the site of Idd’s shooting.
