US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin visited US and Polish troops at a base in Powidz, near Poznan, on Friday.
Accompanied by officers, Lloyd Austin spoke with soldiers and crews of heavy artillery and armoured vehicles in a hangar. Footage also showed military aircraft and pilots.
In addition to troops already stationed in Poland and Romania, the Pentagon put 8,500 more troops in the United States on high alert for possible deployment to Eastern Europe.
