Russia: Foreign Minister Lavrov doubts NATO's self-proclaimed 'defensive' description

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on NATO’s statement that it is a ‘defensive’ alliance, saying that he has doubts about this definition. The comment was made during the ‘Sunday times’ program on Channel One in Moscow.

“One should not forget that it was bombing Yugoslavia for about three months, invaded Libya violating the resolution of the UN Security Council, and its behaviour in Afghanistan,” added Lavrov.

The minister stressed that the line which should be guarded by the North Atlantic Alliance has come close to the territory of Ukraine.
