Russia: NATO mission office closed in Moscow after accreditation withdrawn

Staff at NATO’s mission in Moscow are expected leave their office on Friday after the Russian Foreign Ministry withdrew accreditation earlier this month.

The sign of the NATO’s Information Bureau in Moscow can be seen being taped up, following by people leaving and locking mission’s entrance doors.

The ministry announced on October 18 it would suspend the NATO Information Office and the NATO Military Liaison Mission in Moscow starting from November 1.

The move comes after NATO earlier expelled eight members of the Russian delegation to the alliance that it described as “undeclared intelligence officers.”
