An Antonov An-12 cargo plane crashed in the Irkutsk region on Wednesday, killing all seven people on board.

Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) said that the plane disappeared from radars while preparing to land at around 19:45 local time (11:45 GMT). The plane, belonging to Belarusian airline Grodno, caught fire after crashing and the wreckage was later located in the settlement of Pivovarikha near Irkutsk.

Igor Kobzev, the governor of the Irkutsk region, later confirmed that all those aboard had died, and no survivors had been found among the wreckage. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
