Russian Ministry of Defence said on Thursday it has carried out a test launch of the Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile in the White Sea.

According to the ministry, the missile was launched from the Admiral Gorshkov frigate and successfully struck its target “with a direct hit.”

Russian Northern Fleet’s surface ships and naval aviation were involved in the test, the ministry said.
