Russian authorities launch probes after video leak of alleged prison abuse

The human rights group Gulagu.net published photos and videos of alleged abuses at the Tuberculosis Hospital No. 1, run by the Saratov region’s Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).
Russia’s Investigative Committee opened seven criminal probes, including into abuse of authority and sexual assault in the Saratov prison system.
Russian authorities said they had fired several hospital and prison officials.
