Spain: First beaches appear along La Palma"s lava delta

Images showing the first beaches created by lava from the La Palma volcano were released by The Spanish Centre for Scientific Research (CSIC) on Friday.
The footage, filmed by a biologist from the research centre, shows the formation of at least one sandy beach at the edge of the lava flow.
The erosion of the waves on the lava delta, which is made of highly porous material, has given rise to the first beaches.
The arrival of lava into the sea is modifying the coastal profile of the Spanish island, as the lava comes into contact with the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
