Spain: La Palma volcano continues to spill out over island

The Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma continues to spew lava and billow black clouds of smoke, increasing the dimensions of the delta.
According to local reports, 80 million cubic metres of magma have been expelled from the volcano since its eruption on September 19, causing the evacuation of almost 6,000 people and leaving 981 damaged buildings.
It is feared that the contact of the lava with the salty seawater could lead to toxic gases mixed with hydrochloric acid being formed.
