Spain: Merkel says 'very hard work' ahead for EU to achieve climate goals in award ceremony

The outgoing German German Chancellor Angela Merkel was presented with the ‘Charles V European Award’ at the Monastery of Yuste in Cuacos de Yuste on Wednesday.

After receiving the award from King of Spain, Phillip the VI, Merkel discussed Europe’s climate challenges and goals among other topics.

“I predict that it will be very hard work to adopt this Green Deal,” said Merkel at the award ceremony talking about the challenges ahead for the EU on achieving its climate goals.
