Protesters scuffled with local Madrid police on Friday to stop an eviction order.

Police tore down the entrance door to the building while dragging protesters out as neighbours watched on. The evicted people were two octogenarians who have lived in the property for 55 years.

The eviction came as the government announced evictions for vulnerable families would be halted.
