Spectacular images filmed on Sunday in Tacande captured incandescent rivers of lava flowing down the slope of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on La Palma.

Approximately 1,500 metres from La Laguna, the volcano has been active for 72 days with several vents emanating lava.

According to Pevolca (Canary Islands Volcanic Emergency Plan), the lava has already hit more than 1,100 hectares of the Island.
