State of Palestine: IDF and Palestinians clash as violence near illegal Israeli settlement rises

At least 100 Palestinians were injured in the village of Burqa, near Nablus, as Israeli forces clashed with protesters on Saturday night.

The IDF used live fire and tear gas to disperse the rally. Citing the Palestinian Red Crescent, local reports say that around 135 people have been injured. Some wounded protesters were taken to a hospital in the nearby city of Nablus.

Earlier in the evening, Israeli right-wing nationalists tried to march towards the illegal settlement outpost of Homesh despite a military ban. Protesters hurled objects towards the troops after the IDF reportedly shut down the village entrance, reinforcing its presence around Nablus-Jenin road to avoid a conflict between settlers and Palestinians.

Saturday’s clash came a week after an Israeli student was killed near Homesh.
