State of Palestine: Palestinians clash with Israeli forces following demo near Homesh outpost

Dozens of Palestinian protesters reportedly suffered from suffocation during clashes with Israeli forces at the entrance to Burqa village, northwest of Nablus on Saturday night. The clashes erupted following a protest against the calls for Israeli settlers to march to the ruins of the illegal outpost of Homesh.

Tyres were seen set on fire with protesters hurling projectiles at the Israeli forces who reportedly responded with gas grenades. One person was seen taken by an ambulance.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, 88 people were treated following clashes, most of them due to respiratory issues.

SOT, Ghassan Daghlas, Official responsible for settlements in northern West Bank (Arabic): “Dozens of civilians were wounded this evening, Saturday, during clashes that erupted with the Israeli occupation forces at the entrance to the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus. The Palestinian Red Crescent said that 88 injuries were dealt with by the Palestinian medical staff in Cyrenaica, most of which suffered from suffocation, including three with burns and falls. Field first aid was provided to them. Clashes with the Israeli army and hundreds of civilians erupted at the entrance to the village in protest of the settlers’ march to the evacuated Homesh settlement.”
