"They have our health in their hands" - climate activists on 18th day of hunger strike in Berlin

Six climate activists continued their hunger strike outside the German Bundestag, Thursday. On the 18th day of their hunger strike, the activists said that they “will continue the hunger strike until we have an actual talk with [chancellor] candidates,” even after one of the protesters had been brought to the hospital.
“This guy Jakob was in the hospital but he is now determined to continue, he was unconscious for two minutes,” said Henning, one of the hunger strikers.
The responses of the three main candidates Henning called ‘unacceptable and disillusioning,’ saying that “we were let know so far that all the three want us to start eating something again, they are worried about us, but they say they can only meet us after the elections and not speak publicly.”

The date was announced, and the three should consider now that they have our health in their hands. We feel worse every day as the body is using its last reserves. And this means, do they really want to send the signal to the younger generation, that they are not ready to enter an open discussion with those who want to have their future?”

SOT, Henning, Activist (German): “At the moment we are seeing that after a more stable phase of the hunger strike, our physical strength goes down, as well as the weight, that’s why I sit now or lie here, it’s not easy for me to stand, the limbs hurt but we are determined to continue.
