This cat can't walk straight and his owners thinks he's just purrfect

He’s a happy, healthy cat. He just wobbles. I adopted Pablo from a charity called Wild Animal Friends. Pablo started on the streets of Romania and now lives with me in Bristol, England. Pablo has a condition called cerebellar hypoplasia It’s where a part of his brain, the cerebellum, doesn’t function as it should. 

This causes him issues with his fine motor skills. His cerebellar hypoplasia won’t get any more severe and causes him no pain. Months ago, the family also included Bones, who has sadly since passed away. Bones had the same condition as Pablo.

Who’s excited for dinner? This condition can range in severity. Pablo has a mild case, so he doesn’t need too much assistance. He really does manage to navigate the world almost fully unassisted. He does make a mess when going to the toilet sometimes. So we do need to bathe him semi-frequently. He really enjoys the different sounds and smells of the outdoors, but due to his disability, he cannot go out unsupervised. 

He’s very loving and emotional as a cat. He absolutely adores attention and loves having myself and my partner in the living room in the evenings, so he can sit on the sofa between us. If he doesn’t know where we’ve gone in the house, he’ll call out until he comes and finds us. He also won’t settle and go to bed at night until I’m there and follows me around the house. 

He absolutely loves being brushed and getting lots of personal attention. He is absolutely the lap cat type, but all cats, both disabled and non-disabled, deserve loving homes. I’d advise anybody considering adopting cat to do adequate research beforehand and ensure that they can give a cat a loving and healthy home. Disabled pets do require more care, but they are absolutely worth every second of that.
