Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennet met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, the UAE’s crown prince at his palace in Abu Dhabi on Monday, during the first official visit of any Israeli PM to the United Arab Emirates.
The meeting takes place 15 months after Israel and UAE signed a normalisation deal, the ‘Abraham Accords,’ leveraged by former US President Trump’s administration, to strengthen cooperation between countries.
Both countries are keeping track of Iran’s nuclear activities, as the trip occurs against the backdrop of world powers holding talks with Tehran in Vienna to revive the 2015 JCPOA agreement.
