UK: Black smoke billows over Leamington Spa blaze after alleged industrial site explosion

Plumes of black smoke were seen rising from a large fire at Leeson Polyurethanes Ltd industrial site, Leamington Spa, on Friday following reports of explosions.

Warwickshire fire service have stated that they were called at 10:39 local time (09:39 GMT) to reports of a large building fire, with local residents being evacuated shortly after, and those living within a 70m radius of the site urged to keep their doors and windows closed.

West Midlands ambulance also confirmed that paramedics, as well as its hazardous area response team, were sent to the scene. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
