Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid warned of the threat coming from the new Iranian government, Hamas and Hezbollah as he spoke at the Conservative Friends of Israel meeting joined by the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson in London, Monday.
Lapid paid tribute to Britain and its media as ‘the voice of freedom’, which taught the world an ‘unforgettable lesson’.
“Whoever is unwilling to fight for freedom won’t get it”, Lapid said adding “It is still true today when terrorism threatens us all. When religious fanatics push to get their hands on nuclear weapons.”
Israel’s top diplomat went on to say “the struggle between the law-abiding democracies and murder terrorist organisations is not a struggle between narratives. It is a struggle between good and evil.”
“They assume that the democratic societies and everyone will simply freeze in the face of these lofty words”, Lapid said calling the Western democracies “We must prove them wrong.”
