Drivers were seen crossing the Niagara Falls border check point from Canada into the United States for the first time since it was closed in March of 2020, on Monday.

Passengers crossing the border shared their excitement at finally being able to travel.

“We were waiting a long time for this opportunity to have a reunion with the family,” said Amir who was traveling with his wife.

The United States announced though borders with Canada and Mexico were reopening, travelers must be vaccinated, although unlike crossing by air, a negative COVID test is not required by land.
