USA: Firefighters continue to battle California's Dixie fire as blaze expands over 84,000 hectares

Over 5,100 workers tried to tame the 84,174-hectare (208,000-acre) Dixie fire burning across Butte and Plumas counties in Northern California on Tuesday, following its merging with the Fly fire.

Personnel from the Peardale Chicago Park (PCP) Fire were present on-site, working tirelessly to stop the fire. Members of the Nevada County Strike Team were demobilised from the Tamarack fire and reassigned to the Dixie fire, as stated by the Peardale Chicago Park Fire on Twitter.

The fire had grown to 208,206 acres (84,258 hectares) and was 23 percent contained as of Tuesday morning.
