USA: Virginia residents react to Republican Youngkin"s governor race victory

Virginia residents commented on the outcome of the Virginia governor race in Arlington, Wednesday, that saw Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin win the election.
One resident said, “I think it’s awesome, one hundred percent behind Glenn Youngkin and everything that he stands for so happy that the parents of Virginia stood up and they are taking control of their families and not going too stand by and let the government force feed them the education for their children.”
Another voter shared her dissatisfaction with Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s campaign, “I didn’t think he had strong enough campaign. And his opponent and governor elect Youngkin did have a clever campaign in my opinion and obviously very well funded.”

SOT, Resident: “I think it’s awesome, one hundred percent behind Glenn Youngkin and everything that he stands for so happy that the parents of Virginia stood up and they are taking control of their families and not going to stand by and let the government force feed them the education for their children. They now have a say in it and I think Youngkin is going to deliver on his promises.”

SOT, Robert Muse, Virginia resident: “I am not dissatisfied I think it was predictable. The candidate had a very poor campaign, the democrat McAuliffe. He just kept talking about Donald Trump, nobody is interested now this is more about school issues. It’s not about Donald Trump anymore. And if democrats don’t realise that things are only going to get worse.”

SOT, Bryan Jo, Virginia resident: “Not great, I don’t agree with his views, I don’t agree with the policy that the Republican candidate would have , so not happy with it.”

SOT, Tatiana Russell, Resident: “Well our candidate didn’t win, obviously , but at the same time I didn’t think he had strong enough campaign. And his opponent and governor-elect Youngkin did have a clever campaign in my opinion and obviously very well funded.”

SOT, Resident: “ I am happy with it, I voted for Youngkin, it was close but I just didn’t feel like Democrats brought enough on their platform to get my vote.”

SOT, Resident: “The Democrats came with a bunch a talking heads and though that vote for Democratic Party was automatic in Virginia. They didn’t really address any major issues and kind a side stepped a lot of the questions regarding schools and another issues.”

SOT, Resident: “I don’t like someone who is a Trump supporter being elected governor. And that is a big part of the reason. If Glenn Youngkin just came out and said he was not a Trump supporter, but he didn’t . He tried to pretend that he is and he wants support of Trump and I will not vote for anybody who supports Trump. “
