‘Alexei Navalny Could Die ‘At Any Minute’, Putin-Critic’s Doctors Warn’

Imprisoned Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny is “minutes” away from death in a penal colony near Moscow, according to his personal medical team.

Navalny’s personal physician Anastasia Vasilyeva and three more doctors, including cardiologist Yaroslav Ashikhmin, asked prison officials to grant them immediate access after tests revealed heart and kidney failure.

He has been on hunger strike in jail since March, which doctors say may have exacerbated his already frail condition having only recently recovered from a Novichok nerve agent poisoning.
