German Finance Minister Christian Lindner said he is a ‘friendly hawk, not a scary hawk’ in Brussels on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference, Lindner answered a question by a journalist asking whether Lindner can recognise himself as a scary hawk as some commentators have suggested about Lindner’s Brussels debut.

I am open for arguments, and Germany wants to be part of the solution and not part of the problem,” said Lindner.

His comments came following an ECOFIN Council, a gathering of the EU’s finance ministers, where Lindner represented Germany in Brussels for the first time.
