China: Millions get tested as COVID cases hit Xi'an City

Chinese authorities rolled out a mass COVID testing campaign on the streets of Xi’an on Tuesday, after the city saw a spike in infections.
Residents waited in long queues outside the makeshift testing facilities, after the test certificate became mandatory for the office workers and travellers who wish to leave the city. In order to be accepted, the test result must be not older than 48 hours.
Authorities confirmed at least 91 COVID cases in Xi’an since early December. In order to prevent the spread of disease, the schools returned to online education from home.
