German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christopher Burger clarified the federal government’s position on the current negotiations between the EU and Ukraine on Russia’s military buildup at the Luhansk border, speaking at a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday.
“This common message is clearly that the borders in Europe are inviolable and that we stand together as an international community, as European and transatlantic partners and the only way to resolve the conflict is via dialogue,” said Burger, adding, “It is good that there are now a number of different opportunities, the NATO-Russia council, in the OSCE. There will certainly also be other formats in which Germany will be also also involved.’’
Health Ministry Spokesperson Sebastian Guelde discussed the ongoing spread of the Omicron variant, mentioning that ‘in a short time, in a few days, Omicron will actually be the dominant variant nationwide.’

What worries us, however, is the explosive spread of Omicron. This variant is much more contagious than the variants that have occurred so far.’‘

Before France and Germany had an exchange with the Ukrainian side in a video conference and now they are in person in Moscow and speak to the Russian counterpart.
